Maura Waldron, adjunct clinical instructor in the Elizabeth T. MacNeil School of Nursing, is the recipient of a from the Illinois Nurses Foundation.

The award highlights young nurse leaders for their work in health care and for helping to shape the future of the nursing profession.

Waldron has been educating Dominican University students in nursing since 2023. She is a registered nurse at Rush University Medical Center.

“Maura demonstrates positive leadership as a clinical educator by providing opportunities for students within the hospital setting,” said Dr. Myra Carew, associate dean in Dominican's Borra College of Health Sciences. “She mentors and supports students to step out of their comfort zones, and she responds to student questions to provide a positive learning environment.”
